Downtown... "Charleston Casual," Calhoun and King, Charleston
When I lived in Charleston, so many guys tried to feed me that "Charleston casual" was a polo shirt, topsiders, and kakiki pants. To me, THIS is what "Charleston Casual" should look like, laid back, but still a southern gent. (Well done Sir.)

RW+SS: Preview
I spent the past week in Charleston meeting some great new people, and shooting on the street. I was also down shooting for Rogue Wave Surf Shop and their new untitled campaign. Here is a small preview.

Washington & Lee, "learning the ropes," Lexington, VA
If you look at the top photo, that is pretty standard for most young men at W&L. There are a few stand out dressers walking the campus, however I think the best part of the male students (and ladies) at Washington & Lee is the fact they put in the effort to dress like grown ups right out of high school. A few more years of practice, and a great tailor is really all most of them need to keep up with the Kennedy's. I say Bravo my young sartorial apprentices, here's to many more years of blue oxfords and khakis on the streets of Lexington.

On Campus... "Its the Bag," Wasington & Lee, Lexington, VA
There's a few good parts to this outfit, unstructured top with slim fitted jeans, strapy sandals, simple jewelery, over-sized bag. Great example of a simple yet stylish outfit.

Visiting Charleston next week.
Next Week I'll be making my fall Pilgrimage to Charleston, SC. I'm sure you all know by now that I lived in Charleston for 6 years before moving back to VA.
Unlike past trips, I'm actually going to be in town for the whole week. I'm looking forward to visiting some shops, meeting some new friends, visiting old friends, surfing, eating, and of course hitting the streets for some street style.
I don't have my calender completely locked down just yet but is should be set before the end of this week.
If anyone would like to meet up while I'm in town, feel free to e-mail or tweet me, I'll be happy to meet any of my followers, since without you, I'd have no point to keep taking photos. If I get a bit of a flood of interest in meeting, I'll set up a meet and greet so I can make sure I can meet everyone in case I run low on free time.
If weather and time permits, I plan to detour on the way up and down to Charleston in Columbia and Charlotte for a quick walk in each town.
See you in a week Charleston!

1st Annual Roanoke Tweed Run - November 5, 2011
A few months back, I came up with the idea that Roanoke needed to have a Tweed Run. If you don't know what a Tweed Run is, according to Wikipedia a Tweed Run is is a group bicycle ride through a defined route, in which the cyclists are expected to dress in traditional British cycling or vintage attire, particularly tweed. Any bicycle is acceptable on the Tweed Ride, but classic vintage bicycles are encouraged. Some effort to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is always appreciated.
Somehow, I managed to organize not only the ride, but I also found sponsors, venue hosts, and a charity to benefit from it all. November 5, 2011 needs to go down on your calender now! So dust off your bike, and put together a tweed based outfit and I'll see you in Roanoke. For more information, visit the facebook event page or www.roanoketweedrun.blogspot.com.
