Street Style... 306 King Street, Charleston
By far one of the most beautiful couples I've shot yet. The positive and happy energy they put off was awesome. I probably could have taken photos of them all night.

On the Street with Dirty Richmond.
So If you live in Virginia and read fashion blogs and haven't found Dirty Richmond yet you need to get with the program. Dirty Richmond is one of the few blogs I actually like looking at every day. I like street fashion blogs, and one with original photos. Anyways, I spent a few hours talking, shooting, and hanging out with Brian, the writer of Dirty Richmond and really enjoyed myself. He's mature beyond his years. What I thought was great was how many people knew him by name, I thought it was real classy of him, he'd make a great entrepreneur with social/networking skills like that. One person actually came up to us and asked him, "aren't you Dirty Richmond?" which is pretty cool, only being a college student, he is sort of a local celebrity. I look forward to meeting up with Brian again. Here are some action shots of him doing his thing.

Street Style... 348 King Street., Charleston
So sometimes I have a photo that I just have to post, but the quality of the photo is lacking due to light or other issues. So I played with some of the vintage photo settings in GIMP with this one. This young Gent was from the UK and owns a vintage clothing shop over there. He had some great insight and opinions of the comparison of American fashion to UK and European fashion, really nice guy!
Now pay attention guys, that shirt he is wearing is called a guayabera, pretty much the only kind of shirt I wear in the summer months, I get mine from Puerto Rico. Now don't get this confused with the tacky knock offs you might find in beach shops or at a Jimmy Buffet concert. Four pockets in front, solid colors, Linen, 2 Rows of alforzas (pleats) in front, 3 rows in back, short sleeves, button all but the top button, iron it nice and crisp, nothing more. Also, if your going to wear an undershirt only wear a V-neck because they are very sheer, crew neck will make you look like a goober.
Now go find you some and be ready for summer next year.

Richmond, easy picking for the fashionable in VA
So I spend all day Thursday walking the streets of Richmond and was it a good time. It was a slightly chill day and was surprised that Richmond has a bit of a sleepy feel while still having some action going on all around. It was quite dynamic as far as fashion goes, you get around the VCU campus and you find a lot of different mixes of what is common around college campuses right now. Basically a mix of grunge urban chic, and the boho look that Urban Outfitters, Anthropology, and American Apparel offer. It was nice to see less "mall" looks and more aggressive looks. You head Uptown to Carytown and you find just really a mix of the masses of the city, though It was mid week and winter so a bit slow for a Thursday afternoon. Downtown was awesome! but I lost some prime blogging time talking to friends, the looks were much more cleaner, more mature and clean cut, kind of glamorous, classy and refined.
I wasn't sure of how much time I would have had on Friday, and it turned out I had to call it a day. I really look forward to coming back to Richmond, I've been visiting friends in Richmond for years now, but this was my first trip for the blog. I'm not sure when, but I hope to visit again sometime in the spring maybe around fashion week. I want to spend a bit more time downtown, and possibly catch the weekend traffic around the market by Tobacco Row. I'll also have more daylight to work with. So not that I don't want to get straight to the good stuff, but I'm going to leave you with a bit of a teaser. SORRY!
Here is one picture for you, I'm in the process of rotating less denim in my wardrobe and more khakis and slacks, but I found probably the best place to find designer denim anywhere south of Northern Virginia. Need Supply Co. carries A.P.C. Raw Denim for the guys, and some vintage denim for the ladies, Citizens of Humanity, I could go on. Not to mention a pretty nice selection of shoes, you got the check them out if your in town. I'm not one to praise and basically promote a store on my blog, but Its really one of the best shops in Carytown in my opinion, but I'm also tall with monkey arms, so its hard to really find anything that fits well in many of the vintage and consignment shops that lace Cary Street.

Street Style... "The doorway Part 1," 285 King Street., Charleston
So I had only made it about three blocks down the road till I found four ladies looking quite fabulous. I kind of like taking group photos, so of course I asked to take their picture. Well I'm not one to tell someone what to do during their "5 second fashion shoot" so they were like, lets each take photos in this doorway, so of course I thought this was a terrific idea! So after getting home and review all my photos, I found that the three shots I took of each girl were great, so I've decided for being so enthusiastic and fun, they will get a whole week featuring a different girl each day. So here is part one of the The doorway, 285 King Street.
Gotta love Charleston.

Charleston, SC - Fashionable is normal there.
So I just got back from a weekend trip to Charleston, and I have to say that I actually miss Charleston a bit. If you didn't know I actually lived in Charleston for 6 years, so I'm very familiar with everything that is Chuck-Town. We I wasn't surprised one bit that it would be easy picking downtown. I actually was short on time, so I did some speed blogging cause I was running out of sunlight and had to hit the road ( I was busy surfing all day, so please forgive me for having to sun go down on me). Anyways, I'll be featuring Charleston over the next few weeks so check back for sure. I'll visiting downtown Charleston again all day sometime around December, so I look forward to that.
Also, If any of people I photographed while in town happen to stumble by the blog, keep checking back, it will take about 2-3 weeks to get through all my Charleston photos, but they all came out so you all will be on the blog.
I'll be in Richmond, VA Thursday and Friday of this week just to shoot for the blog. I'll be around downtown at lunch time both Days, VCU Thursday, and In and out of the fan and Carytown both days as well.. Should be fun.

Downtown.. Jefferson St. & Camplle Ave., Roanoke
Just a couple shots, this was my first time to get people as they were crossing the street. It went OK, but I think I need to be more aggressive in getting good shots. I guess I'll be running in front if traffic next time.. LOL.

The Man Behind Angel's Point of View.
So it has been two months now, and only a handful of people know what I look like. So yes, that's me above and yes, I am a boy. Angel is in fact my first name, although I go by David mostly.
I was just reviewing a few photos that I had taken while in Roanoke, when I looked up I saw my wife had been taking pictures of me. She thought they would look nice for a profile of me here on the blog. So now you know who Angel is. It is nice to meet you.
